The role of the molecular components of lactoferrin, quercetin, liposomal vitamin C and zinc
Quercetin belongs to a group of polyphenolic substances known as flavonoids. It is widely distributed in the plant kingdom: particularly rich sources of this substance are onions, capers, apples, berries and green tea. Quercetin may have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, antiviral (in some cases increased by vitamin C) and immunomodulatory activity. The liposomal form increases its absorption and therefore its bioavailability.
Lactoferrin is a glycoprotein contained in breast milk (particularly colostrum), tears, saliva and other body secretions. It is known for its antibacterial and antiviral action, prevents the entry of pathogens and stops infection in the bud.
Also known as L-ascorbic acid, it is one of the most important water-soluble vitamins for the human body. Ascorbic acid plays a key role in regulating the immune response: it stimulates the activity of certain cells of the immune system (neutrophils, macrophages, lymphocytes) and, as a powerful antioxidant, neutralizes the free radicals produced by the immune cells themselves while fighting against pathogenic microorganisms. The liposomal form increases its absorption and therefore its bioavailability.
Zinc is an essential micronutrient for humans and plays a wide range of biological roles. Zinc has immunomodulatory and antioxidant activity. Zinc deficiency has been linked in many cases to the weakening of the immune system.
